I take great pride in being a part of Childance. Founded this club in 2023, I recognize the urge to promote the dancing field to people, especially children around me.Through organizing social dancing workshops for children, I aim to boost their confidence and encourage their personal expressions through dance. It’s truly heartwarming to witness reserved children undergo a transformation, emerging as confident, sociable, and empathetic individuals while reserved at the very beginning of the workshops. Childance also serves as a platform where I was able to offer dance training sessions, instilling a newfound perspective on dance for our club members, emphasizing that it is a source of relaxation and enjoyment rather than a burden.
As the Vice President of TechUs, a technological club specializing in sharing knowledge about AI and coding in the field of computer science, I have assumed big responsibilities that I have not undertaken before:overseeing content marketing for the club, organizing training sessions for fellow members, and calling for sponsorships. This role has not only provided me with the opportunity to explore various aspects of computer science, including artificial intelligence and machine learning but also the chance to strengthen my leadership skills, which I thought would be very important for my later journey in life. I’ve also worked to establish a scholarship fund and lead volunteer efforts to teach STEM and typing skills to students in underserved communities. Through these efforts, I strive to make tech education more inclusive and impactful.

I love being the Vice President of GDevist—a tech club dedicated to promoting sustainability through information technology. Leading training sessions on green tech, I’ve encouraged our members to create innovations that are both impactful and eco-friendly.One of my proudest moments was organizing GDCon: Save the Environment—a web programming contest that not only raised awareness about forest and marine conservation but also gave young coders a platform to sharpen their skills.Beyond coding, I’ve led volunteer trips to rural areas, hosting Science Fair Day events for underprivileged kids and organizing a tree-planting initiative at Sao Mai Sponsorship Center. For me, GDevist is more than a club—it’s proof that tech and sustainability can go hand in hand to make a real difference.
My first ever role as a leader of a design team in a very well-known project.Through Burst Outta Box, I was allowed to not only sharpen my graphic design skills but also serve as a mentor to my team members, providing them with guidance and ideas as they tackled various design tasks. Moreover, being the organizational member of BOB’23:SAILS- a summer camp for students aged 10-15 with the purpose of building soft and communication skills, I had the opportunity to interact with many children, who I believe had grown a lot after being in the summer camp, where me and my clubmates taught them a lot about life lessons and the mindset to confront problems in life.

I signed up for this club during my first semester at Grinnell, and it’s been such an exciting experience ever since. It’s so cool how every week, I get to dive deeper into the world of AI by attending the club’s Tuesday meetings and exploring its real-world applications. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with the club president on the “Predicting Tonal Languages with Machine Learning” project, where we’re classifying songs based on their linguistic features.
Joining the Grinnell Middle School Art Club has been my first volunteer experience in college, and it’s been incredibly rewarding. Not only have I had the opportunity to share my love of art with students who share the same passion, but hearing their heartfelt stories and seeing how they integrate their personal experiences into their artwork has deepened my understanding of how art connects people to their backgrounds and identities. It’s truly been a profound and inspiring experience.

I choose yellow because it symbolizes optimism and growth, reflecting how my achievements have expanded my horizons and brightened the paths of those around me. Yellow represents my ability to bring positivity and hope to every project I take on, from leading dance workshops to creating opportunities for others in tech. It’s the color of new beginnings, and it captures the spirit of how I aim to inspire change and nurture potential in everything I do.
